Love Story
Love Story
Love Story is a visceral and intimate project in which Alessandro Risuleo pays tribute to the aesthetic of Olivier Valsecchi—not through imitation, but by absorbing its visual tension and transforming it into a personal act of storytelling. At the center of the work is the human body, in its sculptural fragility, captured in the moment when love ceases to be narrative and becomes form.
The photographed bodies wrap around each other, lean, resist, and reach. Naked but never exposed, they merge into compositions that echo the melancholic spirals of the Baroque, or the nocturnal morphologies of a thought reaching for the other without ever possessing it. The lighting is sharp yet soft, almost dusty, allowing every anatomical tension to surface like a line etched in silence.
Risuleo constructs scenes of surrender and contact, of unstable equilibrium, where skin becomes emotional clay. As in Valsecchi’s work, the body loses its utilitarian meaning to become pure expression—gesture, volume, dynamic. Yet here, each frame carries a specific emotional temperature: not shouted, but held, compressed into muscle.
Love Story is not a celebration of idealized love, but a visual meditation on intimacy as a space of raw, sometimes painful truth. Each image is an elegant wound, a physical memory of connection—a visual attempt to portray the encounter in its most essential form: two bodies, a tension, a fragment.
